Adopted Village

One of the key goals of SKY College of Agricultural Sciences is to increase productivity through appropriate technical interventions and to train farmers with vital skills. To achieve this goal, the village adoption programme provides a platform for important extension activities to be carried out by involving college faculty members who make regular visits to the village to provide information on pest and disease problems, nutrient deficiencies, and other crop production interventions. Field demonstrations on many areas such as pesticide use, appropriate fertilizer use, and irrigation water were undertaken in farmers’ fields to build confidence in farmers to scale up promising innovations.

  • As a part of the Village Adoption Programme diagnostic visit was made and interacted with the farmer and given suitable suggestions.
  • A WhatsApp group named KRISHI MITRA facilitated to provide necessary crop advisory services to the farmers.
