Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding
Subject learnig specific outcomes
- The students studied the concept on plant breeding through practice on emasculation and hybridization in self-pollinated, cross-pollinated and often cross- pollinated crops; hands-on design and development of plant breeding experiments; and understating estimation of variance, standard deviation, heterosis, inbreeding depression and heritability.
- The students were able to get hands-on seed production techniques, seed quality management, seed certification procedure and seed viability testing in field and vegetable crops.
